However, the little monkey in me was a trouble maker!
The ultrasound technician only needed to get a few measurements which would normally take MAYBE 10 minutes....
Want to take a stab at how long it took her?
Go ahead.... guess...
If you said 30 minutes... you would be right!
John A. would not stop moving around!!
He kept jumping about kicking his legs making himself move backwards, moving his hands around. And to make it more hilarious. She had to take a measurement of the thickness of his neck (which is the main measurement they need) thus she needed a profile shot. Would he give a profile shot? No. He had his face slightly tilting at the screen the whole time admist his jumping around. She had me cough, walk, pee, and also kept jabbing him with the ultrasound thingy and he refused to give her a good shot. Even though it was probably frustrating for her it was nice to watch him for sooo long! We were just in awe the whole time watching this little baby moving around. At one point he even had his right hand up near his head (like he was putting his thumb on his nose all neh neh neh neh neh neh) But you could clearly see all 5 fingers. It was just a beautiful site. We also got confirmation he has two arms and two legs which is nice. She got some really nice clear pics of him too however when it came to take pictures for us he was moving too much for a good shot... little bugger isn't he?
But here is the first picture which I tried my best at labelling at for your convenience...

Now also notice that in this shot his head is on the right side.... for the whole 30 minutes of watching him his head was on the right side... Now near the end the ultrasound technician went to see if the other technician wanted to try and get a better measurement. She came back about 10 minutes later saying that they think the picture she has was good enough but she would try one more time for a better picture for us....
Notice anything different?

That's right! In a matter of ten minutes he totally flipped himself around!
All in all it was a great day yesterday and I can't get the image of him jumping around out of my head. It definitely helped make things more 'real' for me and M.
Oh his heartbeat was also a fast 171 bpm, probably due to all of his exercising. Also, in a matter of 3 weeks he grew from 1.8 cm to 5.1 cm!!
I am booked for my 18 week ultrasound (and probably last ultrasound) 25 September.... can you believe that is only a month away?! Man is time going fast! But that means it will be even sooner that I can feel his millions of kicks, and actually hold him!
I will end you with this thought....
I wonder if there is a way to tell if your kid will have ADD while it is still in the womb? :S haha
Lol don't worry, my little one took a whopping hour and 45 mins to get all the shots for his IPS testing!! :) I think your is a lil' angel
ReplyDeleteGreat to finally see pics! Really excited for your 18 week ultrasound, that is the best one because you'll be able to see so much detail. Will you get a 3D u/s done do you think?
WOW These pics are a lot harder to figure out than last time eh!? *lol* I'm glad to hear he's a little prankster. Maybe he'll come out doing a bow after a drum solo too?? haha
ReplyDeleteSo cool that you got to watch him moving all around and stuff! Like, he's more than just a beanshaped blob that's not moving while it's developing...weird! Could you feel the swimming all around at all??
You still get the ultrasounds done in London, or is it at your own doctor now? If it's London...I'll be in town on the 25th for a wedding that weekend! We could have birthday hangouts, maybe some bowling or something?
I'm laughing really hard! He's going to make the most perfect addition to your family!
ReplyDeleteAHEM...a little behind on posting! GET TO IT!
