Development:
.
How does your baby grow? Pretty fast, actually. At 7 weeks pregnant, your baby's length is approximately a quarter of an inch — the size of a blueberry. Sounds pretty tiny still? Consider this for a little perspective: Your baby is 10,000 times bigger now than it was at conception a month ago.
.
The biggest fetal growth this week is your baby's head (the better to store all those smarts in), with new brain cells being generated at the rate of 100 cells per minute. How's that for a budding genius? And talking about buds, your baby is going out on a limb this week as his or her arm and leg buds begin to sprout and grow longer (and stronger), dividing into hand, arm, and shoulder segments — and leg, knee, and foot segments though the limb buds look more like paddles than hands or feet at this early stage).
.
Also forming this week are your baby's mouth and tongue. And although your embryo is just one month old, it's already gone through three sets of kidneys. The ones in place now are the permanent set and are poised to begin their important work of waste management. In about a week, your baby will start producing urine. Lucky for you, there's no need for diapers (yet). As your baby matures inside you, much of that urine will be excreted into the amniotic fluid, swallowed again by your baby, and then excreted again in a continuous cycle.

As for me sorry for the delayed update for this week. It has been an insane week of busy family/kinda camping stuff mixed in with having a sick feeling, exhausted, and battling headaches. But I am finally feeling a bit better thus I am making myself post while I have time!
.
How crazy is it that any day now I will have something in me, that is peeing in me? haha I can't get over how quickly these babies actually grow! It is such an amazing growth all happening inside of me.

In terms of body changes my stomach is hugely bloated and I'm already hearing from family about how huge I look and how I need to lay off 'the sausages'. Some people really know how to make a girl feel good... First off I haven't gained any weight- if anything I have lost some since I've had not appetite for 2 weeks, I force myself to eat. But my stomach does not show this at all. I am down from 8 pairs of pants to 2. Yesterday I actually went around wearing a pair of jeans undone but I put a hair elastic around the button to keep them 'closed'. M tries to make me feel better saying that it is the baby but realistically it is the uterus pushing up my bowel and bladder hahah attractive eh? But in all seriousness I can't hide it- I have a couple of shirts that hide it quite a bit but most of my other stuff just leaves the tummy hanging out. I don't so much mind when I'm in our own house I just don't like the added looks and comments I guess. Although it is a nice reminder at the same time as to what is inside....
.
I think I will feel sooo much better about the tummy thing after the ultrasound next Tuesday. I am sooo nervous about it. You just hear so many sad stories of women who go to the ultrasound and no heartbeat is found because the baby stopped developing. It just breaks my heart knowing development could stop and there is no way of knowing. I guess as long as everything works out as it should at the ultrasound it will just add that much more confidence in everything and will make everything just so much more real for M and I. I have never been more excited and more nervous about anything in this world. Also right after the ultrasound I plan to get into my stash of Sue's materinity pants... I just want the reassurance that there is actually a baby in me that is making me wear the maternity stuff before I start wearing them. But ohh man I can't wait to get more comfy in pants again!
